GreenTeaPop is Here!

Welcome to our new blog, GreenTeaPop!

"Blog" has a heavy connotation, though, and what we want to do is bring in fresh news about our school, Chinese language, pop culture, Chinese-themed things to do in the area (or in China!), and events for students and families.

It's also good to get feedback from parents, teachers...

For example...teacher Wendy Zhou Witkowsky has just shared a site where teachers can create word search puzzles and other games:

She's also creating sound wave files for students to complete homework recordings (thank you Wendy!)

and, one of our teen students created an "award-winning" international music site, called KaeruMusic. The web site is http://kaerumusic.webs.com.

Please visit the link in the sidebar. KaeruMusic brings Asian pop music and video (with translations) to U.S. students, so everyone can share in world music.

  5. Check out this you tube video which features Chinese Bluegrass music. It melds Chinese and Western string instruments and it is fabulous. This is my first time posting on this site, so I hope it works.

  6. The Asian Liver Center at Stanford University invites your students to apply for the 7th Annual Youth Leadership Conference on Asian and Pacific Islander Health in August 2009 and submit entries for the "B Inspired!" Multimedia Contest in May 2009. We aim to educate and raise awareness about the disproportionately high rates of hepatitis B infection and liver cancer in the API community, as well as to inspire and prepare students to take leadership roles. We firmly believe that youth can effect real change in their communities, and we are committed to investing in their incredible potential.

Please see the attached document for more information on the opportunities for your students. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact me or visit our website at http://liver.stanford.edu.
